White Hall, Arkansas was incorporated in 1964 and known as a “bedroom community." However, in recent years, the city of White Hall has been experiencing a business boom. There are five major employment centers in White Hall: the Pine Bluff Arsenal, the National Center for Toxicological Research, Entergy’s White Bluff Steam Generating Plant, Jefferson Industrial Park and the White Hall School District. Principle industries in the area are engaged in processing cotton, production of cottonseed oil, paper and wood products, wire products, poultry processing and the manufacture of electric transformers and metal fabrication. Major employers are the Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Tyson Foods, International Paper, the Pine Bluff Arsenal and the Union Pacific Railroad. Nearby Little Rock has been named “the second most diverse economy in America,” by Moody’s Investment Service and was ranked 21st out of 150 metropolitan areas on Forbes Magazine’s “best places in America for business and careers.”
